Awards Objectives

This award is to honour those whom made a major scientific discovery or discoveries which contributed to the enhancement of scientific knowledge, come out with new and successfully solved a major technological problem with an economically viable solution.

Eligibility Criteria

Malaysian citizen who resides in Malaysia and has excelled in an area of study relating to natural sciences, excluding mathematics and clinical medicine, who :
i. has made a major scientific discovery or discoveries which contributed to the enhancement of scientific knowledge,
ii. has made an original, revolutionary and important invention, or
iii. has successfully solved a major technological problem with an economically viable solution.

Incentive

Two (2) awards are conferred every year and each consists of :
i) a Certificate of Award, and
ii) a cash prize of RM30,000.

Application Procedures

1. Nominations must be submitted by an authorised representative of a scientific or professional institution/organization or a university in Malaysia of which the nominee is a member.
2. Complete the Nomination Form, which is obtainable from MSTF or from the MSTF website, sent before 31 May of eac year and return to :
Malaysia Toray Science Foundation C/O,Penfabric Sdn. Berhad, Block B, Prai Free Industrial Zone 1,13600 Prai, Penang.
