Scope of Funding
MyBrainSc scholarship is open to all Malaysian citizens who are or will be pursuing a Bachelor or Post-graduate Degree full-time in the field of natural sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in local Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) and the world's top universities or Ivy Leagues.
This program is one of the agenda of the Ministry of Education to achieve the goal of the National Higher Education Strategic Plan (PSPTN) and produce young scientists with big hearts who would boldly accept challenges to produce world-class scholars and finally be recognized as a Nobel Laureates.
Application Method
Qualification Criteria
"The conditions of application are based on the following 3 categories:
1) Ph.D;
a) The candidate is a citizen of Malaysia;
b) Not more than 35 years of age on the date of application;
c) The candidate has achieved excellent results in his/her Bachelor’s degree in pure science that is at least a CGPA of 3.75 and above or First Class;
d) The candidate is not bonded by any sponsors from a previous degree or the sponsors are willing to break the contractual bond if this scholarship is offered;
e) Candidates who are currently serving in any public or private sector must be willing to resign with the offer of this scholarship;
f) Candidates who are pursuing a fully research graduate degree will be given priority; and
g) Candidates who are currently pursuing a Ph.D or have obtained a place in the field of natural sciences either locally or other universities through the application portal.
2) Master;
a) The candidate is a citizen of Malaysia;
b) Not more than 28 years of age on the date of application;
c) The candidate has achieved excellent results in his/her Bachelor’s degree in pure science that is at least a CGPA of 3.75 and above or First Class;
d) The candidate is not bonded by any sponsors from a previous degree or the sponsors are willing to break the contractual bond if this scholarship is offered;
e) Candidates who are currently serving in any public or private sector must be willing to resign with the offer of this scholarship;
f) Mode of study must be in research mode and full-time; and
g) Candidates who are currently pursuing a Master Degree or have obtained a place in the field of natural sciences either locally or other universities through the application portal.
3) First Bachelor degree;
a) The candidate is a citizen of Malaysia;
b) Not more than 21 years of age on the date of application;
c) The candidate must obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.6 and above in the Foundation Course/Matriculation/STPM/Diploma level, 1800/2400 in the SAT, 40/45 in IB and 4A in A-Level;
d) Students who are in the final semester in the university;
e) The student has not received any scholarships/sponsorship/bond agreements from any sponsor.
