Yhe core UIMS applications are Student Information System, Human Resources & Administration System, Financial Information System, Learning Management System and Community Portal. These core components are closely integrated to support the community with seamless access to information stored in these systems.

Universal Serial Data Logger for Science Experiments

Most schools, pre-universities and colleges in Malaysia are still using conventional techniques in performing their scientific experiments. A low cost data logger gadget has been developed at Jabatan Fizik, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris for computerized science experiments and demonstration purposes. most sensors produced voltage signals, utilization of data logger is necessary for computer based experiments. This gadget utilizes microcontroller and serial communication to carry out data acquisition task. A computer programming has been developed to record, process, display data and plots on the computer screen.

PC Sound Card: Transformation to High Technology Physics Experiments

Experiments are not only an essential component in expanding our knowledge but also play as a significant role in learning and teaching, especially in physics. Normally, some physics experiments are performed using specialize and expensive equipments. Due to the high cost, it is a major challenge financially to acquire, maintain and upgrade the equipments. These relatively expensive and specialize equipments make it difficulty for many schools to be involved in laboratory work. Hence, students are deprived from performing some basics experiments which are important in explaining the fundamental principal of physics. In order to create more conducive and engaging environment, we investigate the possibility of utilizing the PC sound card as sensors in physics experiment. A special emphasis is given on easy to assemble experiments that can fit within the budget of any schools or any higher institutions. Three examples will be discussed briefly to exhibit the usability of PC Sound Card in performing physics experiments. Freeware Physics Experiments

Experiments are essential to improve student's understanding in particular physics topics. Furthermore, several skill experiences will be acquired while performing the experiment. this experimental set is a new approach introducing 'freeware' from the internet to student, teachers and lecturers and utilizes it in developing physics experimental as well as demonstration sets. These experiments can be used in teaching and learning processes of sound topic in physics. A few sets of experiment have been developed and tested including experiment utilizing resonance tube used to measure the speed of sound (two different approaches/procedures), experiment on the determination of different orders of sound generated by closed and opened tubes, experiment set of sound ware produced by string of different tension and experiment set used to study sound ware interference. The experimental set-up consists of computer (with freeware installed), a pipe, string and a microphone. The result obtained from the developed experimental sts have only small deviation from the reference/theoretical values. These experimental sets are truly useful for student in studying sound ware topic either at secondary schools, pre-university aswell as introductory physics at university levels.
