We Provide Exclusive National STI Statistic

STI Trends

STI Trends provides a wealth of qualitative and quantitative data geared towards recording the pertinent facts and figures based on STI reports conducted and published by MASTIC. The studies are National Survey of Research and Development (R&D), National Survey of Innovation, National Bibliometric Study, Public Awareness of STI Malaysia and Malaysian STI Indicators Report.

International Ranking

Besides conducting surveys, MASTIC also report on the country's achievements in several international competitiveness reports for the attention of top management such as the :

  • Global Innovation Index,
  • Bloomberg Innovation Index,
  • Global Competitiveness Report, and
  • World Competitiveness Yearbook.

MASTIC also reports key country data to international rating agencies such as the UNESCO Institute of Statistics (UIS) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development for reference and comparison purposes in global rankings.

STI Inventory

STI Inventory was carried out as a continuous exercise to obtain updated and comprehensive STI strategic data in universities, government agencies, government research institution, and GLC/CLG on following modules in

KRSTE.my:

  1. Human Resources in Malaysia in STI (MyHRSTI);
  2. Local Technology Market (TECHMart);
  3. National Scientific Facility Equipment (NFSE);
  4. R&D Project Bank; and
  5. Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) Organisation.

This was important as the numbers of STI strategic data has been steadily increasing over the years attributed to the growing number of STI organisation such as universities, centres of excellence and high-tech industries. Furthermore, the data is important for policymaker to formulate initiative or policy in the STI area.

CITF

The COVID-19 Immunization Task Force (CITF) was established on 3 February 2021 led by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation as the Coordinating Minister to ensure the smooth running of the National COVID-19 Immunization Program (PICK) to speed up vaccination of the country's adult population. CITF under the supervision of MOSTI officially ended the operations on 31 October 2021 when 95.5% of the country's adult population has been fully vaccinated.
